A SPECIAL film and food event being staged at Bawtry Phoenix Theatre this Sunday will raise money for the roof repair fund at the popular Station Road venue.
Tickets priced £10 are on sale now for the evening, during which two films will be shown and a buffet meal served.
The first film, starting 6pm, will be the 1945 black and white romantic drama I Know Where I’m Going, by Powell and Pressburger and starring Wendy Hiller.
The buffet meal will be served at 7.30pm and followed at 8.25pm by French 2001 film comedy Le Placard, starring Daniel Auteuil, Gerard Depardieu and Michelle Laroque.
It is the story of a down-trodden employee who pretends he is gay to prevent being sacked.
