Medal joy for dance troupe

A SHEFFIELD majorette troupe is celebrating success in its first ever competition - after returning home with a host of medals.

The Norfolk Heritage Park Majorettes travelled to Cayton Bay in Scarborough for the event, achieving second place in the junior Pom Pom category and third place in the senior.

Junior drum major Sophie Drake, aged 10, also landed a silver medal for her role, while senior drum major Nyesha Felicen, 11, came third.

A group of 22 dancers along with some parents and organisers travelled to the event, staying in caravans for the weekend. The success comes just a week after the news that the dancers had been given 2,500 from Rotherham construction company Horbury Group.
