Manor Lodge gets a centre

PLANS for a visitor centre next door to Sheffield's historic Manor Lodge have been approved by councillors.

Sheffield Council's planning board has given permission for the development, just east of the walled courtyard which surrounds the Tudor site, to house a cafe, activity room, a local history room, reception and toilets.

The building will be constructed partly using corrugated metal to withstand predicted high levels of vandalism.
