Mail anger for business

SHEFFIELD'S small businesses are now more likely than ever to seek out private alternatives to Royal Mail as a consequence of the postal strike, a British Chambers of Commerce survey has revealed.

The poll shows 55 per cent of small businesses in the city are now more likely to use private delivery companies, even after the current strike is resolved.

Sheffield Chamber of Commerce Chief executive Nigel Tomlinson said: "This result really hammers home the damage that this dispute has done to Royal Mail."
