Lives at risk in Walkley streets

A COUNCILLOR fears residents in a city suburb are at risk because faulty street lamps have not been repaired for seven months.

Lib Dem Coun Diane Leek said the lights on Hawksworth Road in Walkley first went out in February and although workmen repaired them they were out of action again just hours later.

Now she fears residents are going to be at further risk as the nights draw in: "With dark nights fast approaching it is essential the council gets its finger out and fixes these lights once and for all."
