Live concerts on the BBC

CONCERTS from Sheffield's acclaimed Music in the Round series are to be broadcast on the BBC.

Four concerts are to be recorded live at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre as part of the festival's autumn series.

They will feature a roster of international artists and will also include Sheffield's own Ensemble 360. The artists will perform Mendelssohn and Brahms through to Da Falla and Debussy.

They begin with rising French star, pianist Cedric Tiberghien on October 10, followed by baritone Roderick Williams with Ian Burnside, piano, on October 25 and Lawrence Power, on viola, and Simon Crawford-Phillips on piano on November 21.

November 14 will feature Sheffield's very own Ensemble 360 in a programme of Mendelssohn and Poulenc.
