Leisure centre scores a hat-trick

The Sheffield facility achieved the impressive hat trick at this year’s Fitness Industry Association awards, after the venue previously won in both 2005 and 2006.

General manager Richard Apps collected the award in front of hundreds of delegates and industry figures in a ceremony at the NEC in Birmingham.

He said: “We’re thrilled. The awards are very highly contested, so its a phenomenal achievement.

“We’re constantly striving to provide the best possible facilities and are delighted this has been recognised. Hillsborough Leisure Centre is at the heart of the community; were delighted at the positive feedback we’ve had and hope to increase it even further.”

The awards are the fitness industry gold standard by which leading facilities are judged and to win the title the venue had to submit to a rigorous assessment process.

They were required to provide data about the venues impact upon local society and levels of customer satisfaction.
