Kitchen units stolen in raid

KITCHEN units, light fittings and power tools were stolen by thieves who used cutting equipment to break into three storage containers in a Sheffield yard.

The raid at Foster Way, High Green, happened between 12.40am and 2am on Thursday, September 20.

TWO people were rescued by firefighters after they got trapped in a lift at a block of flats in Hyde Park, Sheffield.

Fire crews from Central station saved the stranded residents from the fourth floor of Castle Court flats, St John's Road, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

BUDDING chef James Payne, aged 18, from Pogmoor, Barnsley has landed his dream first job as a trainee at Gordon Ramsay's Claridges. James, who wants to be a pastry chef, said: "Behind all the swearing he's a nice bloke actually."
