She said: "They convinced me my children would be ideal and they would always scout agencies that were free and only took payment when the child got work."

Last week, Action Desk reported how wannabe model Louise Field, aged 22, attended the same trial and was dismayed at the lack of work - and demands for more money.

JENIKA Karr, of Hidden Talent, based at Pinewood Studios, said their up-front fees meant their commission was only 15 per cent instead of up to 25 per cent by other agencies.

It also meant they needed fewer people on their books, so their chances of work were higher.

A survey by entertainment industry newspaper The Stage last year revealed 75 per cent of people who pay up-front fees do not get work in the following 12 months.
