Kids keep up good work

YOUNGSTERS who took part in a scheme to help combat childhood obesity have higher self esteem, do more exercise, and spend less time watching TV according to a new report.

A study into the MEND Initiative, which ran at Hillsborough Leisure Centre earlier this year, has revealed those who took part are continuing with the healthy habits taught as part of the scheme.

A dozen overweight youngsters enrolled on the nine-week course - Mind, Exercise, Nutrition…Do It! - at the Penistone Road venue.

New courses are due to start at Ponds Forge and at Hillsborough Leisure Centre on Monday September 24. To register call Laura Aldrich on 0114 223 3435.
