Inspiring time for women

A NEW group aimed at getting more women into business met with a Sheffield MP today to gain support.

Representatives of 'Inspiring Women' had talks with Meg Munn, a former Minister for Women and Equality, who represents Heeley.

Susan Livisage, chair of 'Inspiring Women', and Helen Rana, Policy Manager for Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, also discussed plans to tackle issues surrounding equal pay.

Ms Munn said: "Despite the Equal Pay Act of 30 years ago, women still only get 87 per cent of men's pay.

"This gap has shrunk over the last 10 years but we need to speed up the recognition that women in the workforce are worth the same as men when doing the same work."
