Hairdresser's terror at raid ordeal

A TERRIFIED hairdresser has told of the moment two robbers burst into her Sheffield salon and threatened her with a knife before making off with £200.

Debbie Roberts, who owns Scissor Shack on Greenhill Road, Meadowhead, said she was getting ready for the day’s work when two men wearing balaclavas burst in at 8.40am yesterday and demanded cash.

She said: “At first I did not really know what was going on – I thought it might be a prank – but then they pulled out the knife and it was terrifying.

“I would never want anybody else to go through that, it’s not something you would wish on anyone. If it was somebody old or frail, it does not bear thinking about what might have happened.”

Ms Roberts, aged 44, said she was left “very shaken” by the ordea.

Det Insp Zaf Ali, from Woodseats CID, appealed for information.

The two men were between 5ft 8ins and 6ft and wearing dark clothing.
