Haddon Hall event cash pledge to boost victims of flood

A RELIEF fund set up to support victims of the South Yorkshire floods is to receive a cash boost from an event this weekend.

Haddon Hall in Bakewell is giving all its admission fees on Saturday to the South Yorkshire Community Foundation’s Flood Disaster Relief Fund.

There will be face painting, dressing up, music and morris dancers, and an original ‘dirty beggar’ will also be on site, urging people to part with their cash for the good cause.

The fundraising will continue into the night, with people invited to join Lord and Lady Edward Manners at an evening at the hall, beginning with a champagne reception. There will be a charity auction, a prize draw and music from the Hallam String Quartet.

Tickets for the evening cost 30 – call 01629 810 910 – while admission for the daytime event is 8.50 for adults, 7.50 for concessions, 4.50 for children and 22 for a family ticket.

Meanwhile, visitors to the Rotherham Show last weekend dug deep and donated 500 to the appeal.
