The Thurgoland Welfare Committee and Thurgoland Thespians have joined forces for a fundraising mission.
The groups are working together on a number of fundraising activities in a bid to raise £12,000 to pay for vital repairs to the Thurgoland village hall.
The next event is a ‘smooth jazz’ night on Sunday at the village hall on Roper Lane.
It follows the ‘Good Old Days’ show, which raised almost £3,000.
The main act at the jazz night will be the Andy Cahill Jazz Quartet, which will be joined by other guest singers and acts.
The village hall will be laid out in ‘cabaret style’ with candlelit tables and staff serving cheeses and canapés. Light drinks and a selection of ales and wines will also be available and there will be an ‘open door’ arrangement with the local pub. Visitors are also invited to bring their own picnic hampers or snacks if preferred. As well as the music, there will be other fun activities to take part in, including a ‘themed quiz’.
The evening begins at 7pm. Tickets costing £5 per person are available from John Anderson on 01226 763257 or 07572 448540.
