Green light for flats plan

PLANS to build 109 flats, offices and training facilities near the city centre for use by the University of Sheffield look set to be given the green light.

Today’s City Centre, South and East Planning and Highways Area Board is recommending approval to the development which would see the present industrial buildings demolished and replaced with the flats and offices in blocks ranging from four and ten storeys in height.

The site, bordered by Broad Lane and Garden Street, lies within the Well Meadow Conservation Area.
