PUBS and clubs in Barnsley will be allowed to stay open late to celebrate the Royal wedding.
Barnsley Council has been notified that there will be a national relaxation of the licensing hours for the sale of alcohol and regulated entertainment between 11pm-1am on Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30.
Councillor Charles Wraith, Chairman of Barnsley Council’s Regulatory Licensing Board, said: “I am pleased to see that the Government has taken steps to relax the licensing hours to allow people to celebrate the forthcoming Royal wedding.
“As with all special events, the public should be mindful of the issues and health implications associated with binge drinking.
“I would ask people who are celebrating the Royal wedding to drink sensibly.”
