PARENTS looking for activities to keep the children entertained this summer can rely on the Dome, Doncaster.

A holiday programme is now in place and will run until Sunday September 3.

This means there is more time for families to enjoy the lagoons, ice caps, play zone and to make the most of special activities.

Fridays in August will be all about ceramics with artist Angie Hardwick leading workshops teaching children to do air drying clay models, collage, printing, drawing and scratch arts with a seaside beach and sea life theme.

The workshops, which will take place in the Forum at the Dome, will run from 10am to 12 noon and from 1pm to 3pm on August 4, 11 and 18.

Tuesdays will see sculptor Dan Jones leading sessions with children creating sculptures based on the summer theme.

The sessions, for up to 30 children, will take place on August 8, 15 and 21, from 10am until 12noon and from 1pm to 3pm.

Amanda Riddell from Doncaster Dome said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming Angie and Dan to the Dome to run these creative sessions with children and young people during the school holidays.

“The work the groups produce will be displayed in the Dome and there will be prizes for the most creative creations.”

Visitors to the Dome on Wednesday’s in August will be invited to a series of Summer Beach Party’s which will take place on August 9, 16 and 23.

The Beach Party’s will run from 11am to 3pm with DJ providing a great summer soundtrack and beach games along with a slip and slide area.

There will also be a Lagoons pool party on Saturday August 12 from 10am until 5pm and an Ice Caps Foam Party on Saturday August 19.

“As you can see we have plenty of additional fun activities to help parents to keep their children entertained during the summer holidays.

“The great thing is that our beach parties and arts activities are all free to take part in.
