GUITAR man Bryan Adams is returning to rock Sheffield Motorpoint Arena and we have tickets to be won, writes digital editor Graham Walker.
He’s bringing his Waking Up The Neighbours 20th Anniversary Tour to the venue to celebrate the anniversary of the rock album.
Since its release in 1991, the three times platinum album has sold 16 million copies worldwide, reaching number one in eight countries.
It spawned huge hits such as Can’t Stop This Thing We Started, There Will Never Be Another tonight and the massive chart-topping theme from Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves, (Everything I do) I Do It For You.
The song, which has become a signature tune for Adams, remained at the number one spot in the UK for 16 consecutive weeks - the longest in UK Chart History.
He will also be performing a set that will honour his endless catalogue of anthemic hits including Cuts Like A Knife, Summer of ’69, Kids Wanna Rock, Can’t Stop This Thing We’ve Started, Heaven, Run To You and co-written with Sheffield’s Eliot Kennedy When You’re Gone and Back To You.
The tour, featuring Adams and his full band, will stop at 12 UK cities and comes to the Motorpoint Arena on Thursday, December 1.
It follows the phenomenal success of his Bare Bones solo-acoustic tour last year.
As Canada’s best known ambassador, Bryan Adams has spent the last three decades making music history. He has sold over 65 million records, toured six continents and achieved number one status in over 40 countries around the world.
He has been awarded the Order of Canada and in 2006, was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards in Halifax. He has been nominated for and won several Academy Awards, Golden Globes and Grammys.
