NIGHTCLUB king Peter Stringfellow is coming home to his Sheffield roots to celebrate 50 years in the music business with a Golden Jubilee party at The Leadmill, on Wednesday, October 24.
And we are celebrating with the chance to win tickets and meet the great man himself.
It’s half a century since he opened his first club in Sheffield, The Black Cat, otherwise known as St. Aiden’s Church Hall, City Road.
The Leadmill party - on Wednesday, October 24 - will recall his days when, as an almost Pied-Piper figure, he led the city’s younger generation through some wonderful musical times, via memorable venues like The Black Cat, Blue Moon, The King Mojo and Down Broadway.
It will be a musical celebration featuring special guest performers and some of his old friends from the Sheffield music scene. With Joe Brown, former vocalist and guitarist from The Pitiful Souls, Mal Towndrow who sang and played guitar with Johnny Tempest & The Cadillacs, The Texans and Knives & Forks who were managed by Peter, rock combo and ex-members of Bitter Suite, The Phil Brodie Band, Clive (C.J.) Morris the singer from The Reaction Soul Band, another favourite local ensemble, rockin’ bluesman Frank White and International 60’s legend Dave Berry all of whom will each be performing short sets. Headlining the evening will be star attraction and a huge favourite of the 60’s soul scene, the legendary Geno Washington and His Ram Jam Band.
Peter will be regaling everybody with some wonderful anecdotes from his life and career.
Guarantee your place. Tickets are £20, with proceeds going to local charities, available from The Leadmill, call 0114-221 2828 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
