American blues star Seasick Steve will play a sold out show at Sheffield O2 Academy and we’ve got tickets to be won, writes Graham Walker.
The 73 years old, real name Steven Wold, is promoting seventh studio album, Sonic Soul Surfer, with a tour including a date at Sheffield’s O2 Academy on Thursday, April 16.
He shot to fame in the UK after his TV appearance on Jools Holland’s 2006 Hootenanny, playing personalised guitars, some with just two or three strings.
He won the 2007 MOJO Award for Best Breakthrough Act and went on to appear at major UK festivals such as Reading, Leeds and Glastonbury.
Now he’s back for the first time in four years armed with a batch of fantastic new songs from his new album, recorded in his front room at the little farm where he lives.
Tickets are like gold and his Sheffield show is sold out. But we’ve got a pair up for grabs.
