BRITAIN’S Got Talent winner Jai McDowall and all the other finalists from this year’s top TV talent show are heading for Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena and we’re giving YOU the chance to meet them, writes Graham Walker.
The live tour is at the venue on Friday, June 24.
To celebrate we are giving one lucky reader and a guest the chance to go backstage plus win tickets for the show.
Four runners up will each get a pair of tickets.
We can’t guarantee who our first prize winner will meet.
But performing will be singing sensation Jai plus all this year’s talented finalists - Ronan Parke, Paul Gbegbaje, New Bounce, Jean Martyn, Les Gibson, James Hobley, Steven Hall, Michael Collings and Razy Gogonea.
McDowall’s crowning moment was watched by a peak TV audience of around 15 million.
The ITV1 live results show had 57 per cent of television viewers at its height.
Asked how he was feeling, McDowall, a care worker from Ayrshire in Scotland, said: “Fantastic, absolutely amazing. I feel dead calm as well, which is a bit strange. It’s obviously not processed enough yet. I get really shaky legs and shaky hands but last night I won it and overcame it, which is great.
“This is what I want to do and where I want to be so I think that’s probably where the calm comes from.
McDowall started singing about 10 years ago doing karaoke in pubs and was inspired by his father, Jim.
Now he wants to focus on his singing career.
He said: “I’m actually single at the moment. To be honest, at this point in time I need to focus on what is going to happen next and where my career is going to take me.
“Maybe after I’m a wee bit more settled I’ll start looking, I guess.”
McDowall will use the £100,000 prize money to pay off his mortgage and decorate his house and is looking forward to performing in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.
He said: “Winning this competition is going to be completely life-changing.”
