Take That: Gary Barlow solo tour dates - VIDEO

Have your say

TAKE That superstar Gary Barlow is bringing his solo tour to Sheffield City Hall because it’s got the X Factor - as one of his favourite intimate venues, says best pal Eliot Kennedy.

Eliot, his Sheffield based song-writing partner, revealed the X Factor judge has fond memories of the award-winning venue where he will return on November 28.

“Gaz has played Sheffield City Hall as a solo artist and he remembers how lovely that room is,” said Eliot, who co-wrote Take That smash Everything Changes and co-produced with Gary Sing, the Diamond Jubilee song.

“I can tell you, it feels like a living room when you’ve got it full. It’s so intimate. I think that’s what he’s missed from the Take That gigs.

“He’s a musician. He wants to go out and play, sing and have a laugh.

“There’s talk of me getting on stage with him. We’ll see. I’ll be there of course.”

Gary’s UK and Ireland tour, starting in November and including two home town Manchester shows, follows two critically acclaimed solo shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall last year.

It celebrates 20 years in the business, over 50 million record sales, eight number one albums and 14 chart-topping singles,

Performing songs spanning his music career, he will kick off at Bournemouth’s International Centre on November 13, before taking in Plymouth, Edinburgh, Nottingham, London, Sheffield, Manchester, Newcastle, Wolverhampton, Oxford, Liverpool, Blackpool, Cardiff and Dublin, finishing up at The Waterfront in Belfast, on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.

He said: “Playing live is my favourite thing. Last year playing two London shows was brilliant, so I thought right, let’s get out and see the rest of the country!”
