Rock for Heroes is an all-day music event on Bank Holiday Monday in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance in memory of a young woman who was killed in a hen party minibus crash on the M62 last April.

Bethany Jones, aged 18, from South Elmsall, died and 20 other women were hurt when the bus and a lorry collided. Eight women were seriously injured and now face a long recovery. Without the prompt response of the air ambulance service, many more might have died.

The concert features the cream of classic rock cover acts from Barnsley including Miss Chief, Coyote, Lauren Tate, Foenix and Arifa.

Expect to hear some of the great classic rock tracks from the likes of Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin at the Trades Club on Racecommon Road, Barnsley.

Dave Pearsall and Steve Clifford of LIVE in Barnsley and Club Generation X have organised the event and will DJ and compere through the day.

The event starts at noon and entry is £3.

All profits will go to Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
