Seven pop stars will be bringing it all back when they take to the stage in Sheffield for the first time since reforming.
Pop icons S Club 7 are back in the live arena for the first time in more than a decade, including a show at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena next Thursday – their first arena show in the Steel City in April 2003.
The band enjoyed huge success in the late Nineties and early Noughties, with four hit albums and 12 top-five singles, including four number ones with Bring It All Back, Never Had A Dream Come True, Don’t Stop Movin, and Have You Ever.
However, Paul Cattermole left in 2002, to return to his ‘rock roots’ and less than a year later the remaining six – Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, Rachel Stevens and Tina Barrett – decided to go their separate ways.
But after years of requests from fans, the group reunited for a special Children in Need performance last year – and such was the reaction they announced a greatest hits album and Bring It All Back tour.
Jon, aged 33. admits the group were overwhelmed by the response from fans
“Doing Children In Need was a total blast, but there was no guarantee we were going to get the reaction we had, so we had our hearts in our throats,” he says.
“We’re so excited to be touring across the country. Being back together is amazing and we can’t wait to get out on the road and to perform in front of our fans again. Let the S Club Party begin.”
And Jon, who has enjoyed a string of West End stage roles since the band’s split, is promising a nostalgic night in Sheffield next week.
“It’s very much going to be a greatest hits show and a celebration of what S Club was back in the day, but with a modern twist to make it relevant,” he says.
