Everyone has heard of picnics in the park – but now Sheffield is preparing to host its own Pinknic in the Park.
Organised by Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgender Sheffield, the event will take place in Weston Park on Sunday, September 15, from noon to 7pm.
A spokesman for the organisers said: “Although organised by and for LGBT people across Sheffield, Pinknic is for everyone and intended to show what an inclusive Sheffield could look like – full of fun, creativity, equality and diversity.”
The line-up includes South Yorkshire Police Brass Band, The Bedford Incident, Bisque, Jack Walton, Sour Cherry, Stepping Out dance group and Easy Dance.
There will also be pole dancing, belly dancing, Cuban and Latin American dancing, a bucking bronco, coconut shy, an art and craft area, face painting, assault course and more.
