Sheffield is to host its first ‘antifolk’ music festival.

The event, in Penelope’s venue on Arundel Gate, will feature artists from the city and as far away as New York.

Antifolk is described as a music genre which ‘subverts the earnestness of 1960s folk music’.

The festival will take place on Thursday, June 6, from 7pm.

Sheffield artists Little Robots and Dave Woodcock will be among the performers.

Tickets cost £6 in advance and £7 on the door.
