A weekend of top folk and jazz music is on offer for free at Rotherham show this weekend in the Music Marquee behind Clifton Museum from 1pm till 5pm each day.

Today’s folk programme includes the return of Flossie Mallavaille, a French singer who became involved in the UK folk scene while she was on a teacher exchange in the North East.

Also returning are perennial favourites Bill Whaley and Dave Fletcher, who have been singing together for over 40 years. Their voices blend perfectly. Top of the bill are Hannah James and Sam Sweeney (pictured), nominated for Best Duo in the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Full House round off the afternoon with contemporary roots sounds.

The jazz programme tomorrow starts with The Colin Yates Big Band.

Flossie Mallavaille is also appearing on the jazz stage singing the songs of Édith Piaf.

The headliners are The Zoltans, who play classic jump jive and swing in true 1940s style.
