Famously immortalised as ‘Guitar George who knows all the chords’ in the Dire Straits classic Sultans of Swing, George Borowski has amassed a huge fan base during his long and illustrious career.

Now he bringing his intricate song-writing and commanding stage presence to Doncaster tomorrow.

A veteran of more than 30 years in the music business, he has played to audiences all over the world and shared the spotlight with countless artists from every sphere and era of rock music, from Neil Young to the Happy Mondays and Radiohead.

Frank Black, frontman of legendary indie act Pixies, once remarked he had ‘never seen a rock’n’roll performer so completely connected with what he was doing on stage’ as Borowski, with his iconic voice – a diverse, soulful instrument that effortlessly ranges from an operatic bellow to a raspy howl – and virtuoso guitar skills gaining him respect and reverence among even his most famous peers.

George Borowski and Friends play The Roots Music Club, at the Ukrainian Centre, Beckett Road, Doncaster town centre, tomorrow,from 8pm.

Fans are warned to expect a lengthy and eclectic set of quality rock’n’roll delivered with passion, including cuts from cult classic albums like Fresh Bait and Fair Xaverian.
