Professor Green performs in Sheffield tonight – ahead of a much-delayed tour to promote his latest album, Growing Up In Public.
And the 29-year-old Londoner, real-name Stephen Manderson, is delighted to put a troubled 12 months behind him and get performing.
Last year, he hurt his leg when crushed between two cars, and in March he was fined and banned from driving for a year after admitting drink-driving.
These incidents meant Green’s forthcoming tour was delayed twice.
So much so, he says as soon as his tour is done in December, he is going straight back into the studio to start his next album.
He says: “I’m a bit sick of all the ups and downs. I’m getting to a point in my life where I just want to chill. I want to work. I don’t want to be lazy, but I want to just work, and just be married and just live and just walk the dogs, without all the stuff and drama.”
n Professor Green, along with Union J and Alexa Goddard, will play Meadowhall Shopping Centre’s Christmas lights switch-on charity concert tonight.
