More than 10,000 music fans, young and old, are expected to descend on South Yorkshire next month to attend a music festival which has been revived after an eight-year break.

The Shindig Festival is at Silverwood, Silkstone, near Barnsley from Friday, August 10 to Sunday, August 12.

The line-up includes big name rock bands Athlete and The Rifles, along with acoustic act Simon and Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene – unplugged.

Organiser Jim Garside, of 1st Horizon Entertainment, said: “We have more than 15 bands and artists performing an eclectic mix of indie, rock, folk and roots in an idyllic woodland setting.“

Tickets are £20 on Friday and £25 on Saturday and Sunday. See www.shindigfestival.co.uk for more.
