Doncaster singing star Louis Tomlinson made it a family affair when he drafted in his mum to help him with a glitzy charity fundraiser.
The One Direction singer hosted the fundraiser for children’s charity Believe In Magic and his mum Johannah Deakin, from Hickleton, accompanied him on the red carpet.
The bash was his first UK event since news broke of his impending fatherhood.
Louis, who is expecting his first child with Briana Jungwirth, hit the red carpet at the Natural History Museum in London on Monday.
Other famous names at the event as they raised money for the children’s charity included Chloe Jasmin, Dynamo and Arlene Phillips.
Louis announced he would be hosting the event last month on Twitter, when he said: “Very excited & proud to be hosting an exclusive Cinderella Ball for @Believeinmagicx next month ! Few tickets left.”
After the event, the former Hayfield School pupil was back on Twitter to thank mum-of-six Johannah, a midwife at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
He told his followers: “Wow,what an incredible night! I hope Meg, Jean and my beautiful Mum feel very proud for creating such a fantastic night for everyone!”
Believe In Magic was set up in 2011, saying it planned to spread magic to terminally ill children across the UK. Since its inception, the charity has organised once-in-a-lifetime events such as parties and celebrity hospital and hospice visits for seriously ill children.
Supporters of the initiative include Jessie J, Olly Murs, Pixie Lott, Little Mix, Professor Green, Fearne Cotton and Michael Bublé.
The charity said of the ball when it was first announced on Facebook: “We are absolutely delighted and so excited to announce our exclusive Cinderella Ball, hosted by our wonderful ambassador One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson.
“Louis is hosting this exceptionally special event in Central London to raise money for our brave and beautiful Believe in Magic children, to help spread magic, hope and happiness and make wishes come true for hundreds of seriously and terminally ill children. The majority of tickets are invite-only, but Louis has decided to release five very special tables to the public as a thank you to the boys’ wonderful fans.
“A huge thank you to Louis and his lovely mum Johannah Deakin for this incredible support, your kindness really is making pure magic!”
