DANCE diva Britney Spears is planning a dynamite show in Sheffield on Bonfire Night - with a fireworks spectacular inside the Motorpoint Arena, writes digital editor Graham Walker.
Femme Fatale, her current world tour, promoting her latest album and greatest hits, ends with a banger of a finale.
Pyrotechnics are timed to blast on stage while she sings and dances to new hit single Till The World Ends.
And if she brings the same format from the USA tour it will be a fitting end to her debut at the Motorpoint Arena, on Saturday, November 5.
Her concerts have been selling out within minutes on the rest of the tour and today promoters Live Nation added new dates, including Sheffield.
Tickets, priced at £55 - with a maximum of six allowed per person - go on sale this Friday, July 1, at 9am.
Simon Bailey, marketing manager at the Arena, said: “This is a great announcement for us - a fantastic opportunity for Sheffield to be highlighted by an international artist.
“Britney Spears is one of the biggest music icons on the planet and we are thrilled to be hosting her debut here on this tour.”
Spears, aged 29, a Grammy-winning multi-platinum American pop singer, songwriter, dancer and occasional actress, has sold over 100 million records worldwide, with ten singles and five albums, hitting number one in the United World Chart.
Baby One More Time, Toxic, Womanizer and Piece Of Me are among her greatest hits which have featured on the tour so far.
The Oops I Did It Again hitmaker is also showcasing her seventh studio album, which gives its name to the tour and includes a range of outfit changes, from a sparkly silver costume to a black leotard with flashing red lights.
Elaborate stage sets include cages, a pink motorcycle, a giant dragon boat and a slew of dancers.
Sexy, seductive, fierce, belly-bared and draped in a giant boa, wearing a catsuit or provocatively strutting in a school uniform, Spears knows how to sell records and live show tickets.
The pop trendsetter has even been plucking a lucky guy from each audience to give a personal lap dance.
She said: “I can’t wait to come back to the UK and perform for my fans there, it’s been too long!”
