ROCKERS Biffy Clyro wowed Sheffield as they braved the snow to perform at the city’s Motorpoint Arena.
The Scottish trio stormed through a two-hour set of more than 25 songs, much to the delight off the thousands of fans who defied the bad weather to flock to the Attercliffe venue.
Touring in support of their sixth album, Opposites, the band – named after fictional Cliff Richard merchandise, the Cliffy Biro – showcased a number of songs from the album, as well as some of their many hits.
Top 10 hits Mountains and Many of Horror – later a number one hit, called When We Collide, for The X Factor winner Matt Cardle – were particular highlights at a gig lapped up by a raucous and enthusiastic crowd.
And fans were quick to praise the gig on Twitter.
Lorna Jayne Whitaker said Biffy Clyro were ‘immense’, while Monica Dias said it was an ‘incredible gig’.
Tara Cheatham said: “Biffy Clyro were absolutely amazing at the Motorpoint Arena. They totally rocked it.”
Afterwards, the band – guitarist and vocalist Simon Neil and twin brothers James and Ben Johnston on bass and drums respectively – said: “Thanks for defeating the snow with us Sheffield. Mega gig.”
