A pop up restaurant combining Michelin star standard cuisine and opportunity for budding Sheffield chefs is returning - and you could win a table for two.
Max Fischer, from Fischer’s at Baslow Hall, worked with catering students at Sheffield Halam University to host a special tasting menu experience for the first time in 2017.
It was such a success that the event is returning in February, and this time will take place over four nights in the Hallam View restaurant with a new a la carte menu.
The restaurant allows diners to sample premium food - Fischer’s is the only Michelin starred restaurant in the region - while giving catering students invaluable experience before they graduate.
Alicia Wright, hospitality business management student, said: “I am looking forward to the event with Max Fischer as I learnt so much last year and that was only one night.
“I can’t wait for the experiences and the challenges, as I want to gain as much knowledge in the industry that I am so passionate about”.
Fellow student Zoe Wesson added: “I’m so excited to be a part of the pop-up restaurant. It’s such a pleasure to be able to work alongside Max Fischer and represent the university.”
Dishes on the pop up menu will include pan fried mackerel for starters, duck leg confit for main course and tarte tatin for dessert.
The Star has teamed up with Hallam to offer one lucky reader dinner for two at the pop up on Tuesday, February 20.

Celebrity chefs are visiting the University of Sheffield to host an exciting evening of food and chat next week.
Martha Collison - the youngest Great British Bake Off contestant - and Joe Hurd from Saturday Kitchen will be at the INOX restaurant on Thursday February 22.
