Sheffield’s Howard Middleton is returning to the Great British Bake Off tent for the TV show’s final outing on the BBC.
Howard, a contestant on series four of the programme, is taking part in The Great Christmas Bake Off, a seasonal special spread over two episodes featuring eight past participants. Former council worker Howard now makes a living out of baking, regularly appearing at food shows across the country.
He is part of Bake With a Legend, a masterclass that allows fans to cook with Bake Off contestants, and published his own recipe book last year, Delicious Gluten-Free Baking.
Howard became the subject of controversy during series four, after his custard was stolen by a rival contestant.
The festive specials will be the last chance to see judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, and hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, together.
Only Hollywood will appear in the next series of the show, which is moving to Channel 4.
