That one word 'Burger' and my lads are there. Kerb Edge recently opened in Stocksbridge, inspired by New York burger joints started out as a food truck, nowadays it's indoors but Cyril the van still visits local private functions and festivals.

Outside is delightful and inviting with multi coloured fountain lights.  A small and contemporary place which has been up-cycled using plenty of steel, wood and several bin lids which sets the scene.

Dirty loaded chips.

Cocktails, lagers and soft drinks on offer but there wasn't any beers to choose from. Bottled beer was slightly expensive at £3.75 but Pepsi was a reasonable £1.90 compared to other eateries.

A selection of burgers, chicken, wings and loaded chips for us to saunter through. We opted for chicken wings to share but they had run out so the waiter offered us a chicken replacement, a lunch box, £10, as its called with tender pieces of chicken in, smothered in a Korean and a chipotle BBQ sauce, slaw with tasty.

For mains, we had burgers, I had the mushroom Swiss, £8.50, a meaty beef burger patty, topped with a garlic and thyme succulent flat mushroom, Swiss cheese in a toasted brioche bun.

My son had a Yorkshire blue burger, £7.50, sprinkled with a delightful crumbly cheese, with a streak of bacon across the top.

My other son had a fried feathers burger, £7.50, a juicy chicken burger with a flavorsome smokey BBQ sauce, a street slaw which was loaded with squeaky sweet cabbage.

The burgers come in a takeaway box, different, but I'm old fashioned and would have preferred the good old plate. We ordered two trays of loaded chips to accompany our burgers, naughty chips, £6.50, these were topped with warm Atom beer cheese sauce, blue cheese, tangy BBQ sauce, crispy fried onions, tangy citrus pickles and a divine smokey mayo.

The second tray was Thai chips, £5.50, these were topped with a mild but tangy tomato, mango & pineapple salsa, jalapeno's with a little kick and a full flavoured Thai red sauce.

We definitely overloaded on the chips, but they were delicious.

We were sat next to a ping pong table, several balls were flying when we were eating!

Our bill with two drinks each came to  £53.10.

There is several offers through the week starting with 50% off on a Monday when you eat in or Tuesday is buy one burger get one free.
