A PUB chain’s four Doncaster boozers have launched a three week beer festival.

Beer enthusiasts will be able to try up to 40 real ales from the UK and overseas during a 19-day festival at The Gate House in High Street, The Red Lion in Market Place, The Old Angel in Cleveland Street and The Old Market Hall in Mexborough.

The event, which started yesterday, will run until Sunday, April 10 inclusive, with all beers priced from £1.85 to £1.89 a pint.

The overseas beers on sale at the Wetherspoons event are from Jamaica, the Netherlands, USA and Sweden.

The UK beers will include Otter’s Hoppy Otter, Jennings’ Cocky Blonde, Springheard’s The Bees Knees, Caledonian’s Doc Kennedy’s Lipsmacker Lemon Ale, Holdens’ April Shower, Skinners’ Mousehole Moonshine, Wells & Young’s Banana Bread Beer, Wolf’s Prairie Gold and Lymestone’s and Gaul Stone.

The Gate House manager Paul Sanderson said: “The festival will give people the opportunity to enjoy a superb selection of UK and international beers. We will be serving a real ale from Jamaica for the first time.”
