Baking legends Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood may have parted ways in the Great British Bake Off split – but they will be back together this weekend at Chatsworth Country Fair.

BBC MasterChef’s John Torode and Lisa Faulkner, along with top professional chefs from around the UK, are also part of the celebrations from Friday, September 1 to Sunday, September 3.

Artisan baker Paul Hollywood, a judge on the new Bake Off TV show on Channel 4, will be opening proceedings on Friday.

Before his TV career, Paul was head baker at some of the most exclusive hotels, including Cliveden, The Chester Grosvenor and The Dorchester, gaining a reputation as one of the country’s finest artisan bakers.

Mary will give one of her few live demonstrations on the Saturday as her fifth appearance at the fair.

Long-standing Masterchef stalwart John Torode will be cooking some recipes from his book, My Kind of Food, which he says “reflect me and the things in life I love – how I eat and how I cook. At its heart, it is simple, but it’s definitely also influenced by my years in restaurant kitchens.”

Following the success of her book From Mother to Mother, inspired by other mothers and family members, Lisa Faulkner will be sharing some of the recipes the whole family can enjoy.

Demonstrations will take place in the Stoves Cookery Theatre in a marquee with TV screens, PA and seating at the heart of the Fine Food Village.

For those inspired by the masters of cooking, the Fine Food Village is jam-packed with small and local artisan producers offering food to eat, taste and take home.

Tickets to the fair cost £25 per adult per day.

n In Sheffield there are also plenty of food-based events taking place this weekend.

At Fox Valley shopping centre in Stocksbridge, a monthly farmers’ market is being launched for the first time on Saturday, 9am-3pm.

There will be fresh local produce on the theme ‘back to school – healthy eating’.

Traders taking part include Holmfirth Fresh Fish and pies from Hillsborough’s Pie Parlor as well as Ellis fruit and vegetables.

Also on Friday and Saturday, the 24th Peddler Night Market takes place at 92 Burton Road, Kelham Island.

Three new traders include Asian specialists Street Cleaver.
