FOODIES in Sheffield for the city’s Food Festival next weekend will be treated to the county’s world renowned Yorkshire Pudding.

Chefs from Owlerton Greyhound Stadium will be serving up the speciality, where both sweet and savoury variety puds will be available, as part of a picnic in the city’s Peace Gardens sponsored by Owlerton Greyhound Stadium and Napoleons Casinos and Restaurants.

Pop-up versions of Sheffield restaurants will be set up during the festival, which will run from Friday, September 14, until Sunday, September 16.

More than 45,000 people are expected to visit the city centre over the course of the three-day event.

Nick Middleton, catering manager at Owlerton Greyhound Stadium, said: “Yorkshire is well known for its love of good grub so we thought what better way to celebrate this year’s Sheffield Food Festival than with a twist on a true Yorkshire classic. We’re looking forward to showcasing our food and taking part in the festival.”
