FLOODS: Update on road chaos

AN UPDATE on the reconstruction of flood damaged roads in north Sheffield is to be given by council highways bosses at a meeting tonight.

John Charlton, director of Sheffield Council's Street Force department, will join highways and road safety officers to explain efforts to repair the A61 at Grenoside and the A6102 Middlewood Road North, both badly damaged.

The A6102 must be completely rebuilt, and is unlikely to reopen until late next year.

The public meeting of the council North Area Panel is at Bradfield School, Kirk Edge Road, 6.30pm-8.30pm.
