Five star boost for booming city

The 38 million development will complete the transformation of the area near Victoria Quays with the 198-room Crowne Plaza development

News that a new three-star hotel, Express by Holiday Inn, will also be built nearby with a further 161 beds makes it a double celebration for the city and will increase the number of hotel beds in Sheffield by 18 per cent.

The investment will bring jobs and prestige to Sheffield and is a massive boost and confirmation that our booming economy is attracting quality investors.

We are at last narrowing the gap on rival cities like Leeds and Manchester as Sheffield coninues to show better growth than those two cities.

Star backs appeal

THE STAR is backing a 120,000 campaign to ensure sick children have the best chance to reach hospital safely.

30,000 has already been raised toward the cost of a new mobile intensive care unit for Yorkshire's only dedicated children's hospital.
