Factory petition

CAMPAIGNERS fighting plans for a giant factory on a piece of Sheffield's most beautiful countryside will present a petition to council chiefs next month.

The Stop Them In Their Tracks group will present the petition containing thousands of names to councillors on Wednesday November 7.

The opposition is part of a battle to stop Network Rail building a factory on green belt land alongside Beighton Marsh and Woodhouse Washlands.

The group recently staged a protest walk on the land, and held a rally at Starbuck Farm in Woodhouse Lane, Beighton.

The group will meet at the steps of the Town Hall at 1.30pm and present the petition during the full council meeting starting at 2pm. Log on to www.stopthem.co.uk for more information.
