A free circus performance in Barnsley this weekend will feature dance, circus, parkour and climbing.

As part of The Mayors Parade, Kapow Dance will perform their show in Barnsley.

The Boulderers is a new outdoor production featuring dance, circus, parkour and climbing. The brave team of performers climb the walls, climb one another, get lost, find themselves and inspire anyone who's watching to get outside and play.

Co-commissioned by Greentop Circus Sheffield and The Civi, Barnsley, supported by the Arts Council of England and Moon Climbing: The Boulderers is the promenade story of Rock Climbers pushing their limits, forming firm friendships and boldly reimagining the city as the crag.

The show starts on the street with a surprising performance of gymnastics where the audience meet the climbers before moving on through the town on a 30 min promenade journey. At each site a scene unfolds telling a new piece to the story, inviting us into the exciting world of climbing. The audience follows the show to different locations, and watches on in wonder as our Boulderers explore well known buildings. There is comedy, fear, transformation, support and bravery. This is a performance full of surprise and fun that will have you on the edge.

The starting points will be announced on Kapow’s facebook page, so look out for updates with @kapowdance and watch out for this dynamic group, climbing a building near you at The Mayors Parade.

The Boulderers is this Saturday July 14 at 11am and 1:30pm in Barnsley town centre.
