Crash death biker was living his dream

A YOUNG South Yorkshire motorcyclist tragically died while living his dream with his Thai bride and young baby.

George Thomas Potter was loving life after settling in the Thai district of Mea Sot with his new wife from a local 'tribe'.

They had a 10-month-old baby boy - who will now be brought to England and looked after by his heartbroken grandparents, who live in Thurcroft, Rotherham.

George, aged 22, died on a main road in the sub-district of Phra That Pha Daeng while riding alone on his motorbike, an inquest heard.

His body was found by a passer-by about one hour after he died. It is not known how he crashed but he suffered a fractured skull and is believed to have died quickly.

His devastated mum and dad Maxine and George senior, of Ivanhoe Road, were at the inquest in Rotherham, where Coroner Stanley Hooper recorded an accidental death verdict.

Mr Hooper said George married a Thai woman in a local ceremony which was not recognised by the Thai authorities, so was technically not legal.

He had been travelling on a straight motorway-style road when the accident happened but the exact circumstances of the crash are not known.

George's mum flew over to visit the crash scene before bringing her son's body home.

He will be now buried after a service in Thurcroft.

After the inquest Maxine said: "We are obviously heartbroken, you don't expect to lose a son. He had been out there about three years after going on holiday with a friend and then met his partner, who was from a local tribe."
