Couple threatened by knife thug

The couple were in the lounge of their house in the Spinkhill area of Richmond when they heard a loud bang in the bedroom and went to investigate.

They were confronted by a man who threatened them with a knife and told them to get out of the way.

The intruder managed to grab the woman's handbag from the lounge before fleeing the property in the direction of Richmond Hall Road.

The intruder was black, aged 18 to 25, around 5ft 8ins tall, and of average build. He spoke with a local accent.
