Council trims management

A NEW management structure is being implemented at Chesterfield Council to save tens of thousands of pounds a year.

It follows the departure of two senior offices, and means there will just be a chief executive, deputy chief executive and heads of services.

It removes a layer of management, instead of having services organised under three directorates, each of which also used to have a head.

Chesterfield Council says savings will be 60,000 annually for the next three financial years, and 90,000 a year after that.
