Condolences: Ellie Stockwell

Ellie's determined fight against Neuroblastoma touched South Yorkshire - and in 2006 she was awarded The Star's Superkid Courage Award in recognition of her efforts.

Speaking at the Superkids awards ceremony in April 2006, Ellie's proud mum Claire described her as "an amazing little girl" who always had a smile on her face "no mater what".

She also described her young daughter as her "inspiration".

Ellie, of Middlewood Road, Hillsborough, died on October 7 and relatives and friends flooded The Star's notices pages with tributes to a "beautiful, brave cheeky and caring" girl.
