Condolences: Chloe Mooney, aged 8

Chloe Mooney, 8, died of a brain tumour earlier this year.

Wellwishers raised 8,529 to pay for Chloe to go on a dream holiday to Disneyland.

But the youngster, who endured a gruelling series of operations and chemotherapy, died before she could make the trip.

Her mum Becky Mooney - partner of Sheffield professional boxer Ross Burkinshaw - said the money was raised during charity nights organised by relatives at the Philadelphia Club, Upper

thorpe, and at Low Woods Club, in Deepcar, earlier this year.

Becky thanked all those who helped raise the money and is going to donate it to the Sheffield Children's Hospital's Neuro-care appeal - which aims to raise 500,000 to pay for a new brain scanner.

Our story about Becky's decision brought this emailed tribute from star.co.uk user SallyLis.

Knew Chloe very well & miss her loads.

Just hope that you're out of pain Chloe. You're always in our thoughts.
