Concept car on display at Jaguar showroom

Hatfields garage on Sharrow Vale Road, Sharrow, became home to a high-profile motor show concept car – the 1998 Jaguar XK180.

Unveiled at the Paris motor show in October 1998, the XK180 is a modern interpretation of the classic Jaguar.

It was designed to showcase the best of Jaguar’s technology and set a precedent for sports cars.

“Unlike many other motor show concept cars, the XK180 is a fully operational vehicle,” said Andrew Jeffery, general manager at Hatfields.

“It is rather special and we were pleased to have it in our showroom.”

The top-of-the-range vehicle spent a couple of weeks on display at the garage, on loan from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.
