City a place of sanctuary
SHEFFIELD was today being declared the UK's first 'City Of Sanctuary' in recognition of its efforts to welcome refugees fleeing war and terror abroad.
Faith and business leaders, councillors and student representatives were due to meet Lord Mayor Arthur Dunworth at the Town Hall to mark the occasion.
It follows a two year campaign by over 70 organisations.
